Praise be to You

I must have the love that God has for my brother, or I do not know God. 'If anyone says I love God yet hates his brother, he is a liar; for if he does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen' (1 John 4.20). Knowledge of God is not simply a vertical line between me and God, but it connects me to all other persons, and through these persons it connects and binds together the whole world. This is why 'he who loves not, does not know God, for God is love' (1 John 4.8).
